TOWSON, Md. - Freshman
Janelle Arch scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to lift the Drew University field hockey team to a 2-1 Landmark Conference (LC) victory at Goucher College on Saturday.
Arch broke open a scoreless game with 4:26 left in the opening half, finishing off an assist from freshman
Lauren Cagliostro on a penalty corner.
The Gophers (1-11, 0-5 LC) tied it up with 3:44 remaining in the third quarter, and neither side scored over the remainder of regulation.
With just under three minutes left in OT, Drew (4-10, 1-4 LC) was awarded a corner, setting off a flurry of shots that allowed the Rangers to break through. Junior
Trisha Dominick fired off a shot that was saved by the goalie. Arch sent in a shot off the rebound that was also saved, but her second rebound found the back of the cage for her first career game-winning goal.
Sophomore
Olyvia Jackson went the distance in goal for the Rangers and finished with two saves.
Drew returns home on Tuesday, when it hosts Cedar Crest at 7 p.m. in a non-conference outing.
