MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University field hockey team lost by a score of 6-1 to 17th-ranked Susquehanna University in a Landmark Conference (LC) match-up Saturday afternoon in a sunny Ranger Stadium.
The River Hawks (8-2, 1-1 LC) jumped to a 3-0 first-quarter lead, then tacked on one goal in each of the last three periods.
Freshman
Janelle Arch made it a 4-1 game when she scored three minutes into the second half for the Rangers. She redirected a long hit from junior
Trisha Dominick for her third goal of the season.
Sophomore
Olyvia Jackson and junior
Bridget Kenny split the time in goal for the Rangers. Jackson started and made four saves in the opening half before Kenny stopped eight shots over the final two quarters. Kenny provided a highlight-reel save late in the game, diving to her right to swat away a shot on goal.
The Rangers close out their three-game homestand on Monday, when they take on Stevens at 7 p.m. in a non-conference match-up.
