Field Hockey Tops Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, Pa. - Freshman Janelle Arch scored a pair of first-half goals and the Drew University field hockey team earned a 4-1 victory at Lancaster Bible College in a non-conference affair Wednesday evening.

The Rangers, who won for the third time in their last four games, never trailed after Arch scored a goal in each of the first two quarters to stake the Rangers to a 2-0 halftime lead.

Junior Trisha Dominick and freshman Lauren Cagliostro contributed one goal and one assist apiece for Drew while sophomore Olyvia Jackson made four saves in 51 minutes of action.

In the first quarter, Arch notched an unassisted tally with 1:50 left on the clock. Then with 5:47 remaining in the second period, she converted a feed from Dominick and junior Alexa Thomas.

The Chargers cut the deficit in half when they scored midway through the third quarter. However, Drew answered when Cagliostro finished off a pass from senior Amber Frikkee with 2:13 on the third-quarter clock.

Dominick set the final score when she scored with 2:02 remaining in the game.

Sophomore Emily Sheridan played the final nine minutes between the pipes for Drew and turned aside one shot.

The Rangers close out the season on Saturday, when they host Moravian University at 1 p.m. on Senior Day.
