TOWSON, Md. - The Drew University women's basketball team raced out to a 49-15 halftime lead en route to an 81-38 victory at Goucher College in its Landmark Conference (LC) opener Sunday afternoon.

The Rangers took control early, outscoring Goucher 20-3 to start the game while holding the Gophers to just three free throws over the opening seven and a half minutes. Frederick helped power the surge, scoring nine of her points over the stretch. After Goucher scored its only field goal of the first quarter, Drew ended the period on a 6-1 run to open up a 26-6 lead. Timinski scored the last five points of the run, including a 3-pointer in the closing seconds.

The Blue and Green continued their run in the second quarter, opening on an 8-0 spurt as their lead swelled to 28. It was a 36-15 game with 3:13 on the clock before the Rangers closed the quarter strong once again, scoring 13 unanswered points to assume their commanding halftime advantage. Freshman guard Izzy Lalo capped the run with a 3-pointer just before the buzzer.

Drew saw its lead swell to 43 midway through the third quarter and led 66-26 heading into the final period. The Rangers' advantage peaked at 50 (80-30) following a fastbreak layu-up from Genua with 4:39 left.
