SCRANTON, Pa. - The Rangers lost both ends of a doubleheader at the University of Scranton on Saturday in Landmark Conference (LC) softball action.
The undefeated Royals (6-0, 6-0 LC) won 8-0 in six innings in the opener before claiming a 10-1, five-inning decision in the second game.
In the first game, Scranton hit a two-run homer in the first inning to assume an early 2-0 lead. The Royals added a pair of unearned runs in the fourth before adding four more runs in the sixth, ending the game when the eight-run rule came into effect.

Madi Baldwin ripped a double for Drew (4-6, 4-6 LC)
In the second game, the Royals scored at least two runs in each of the first four innings before Drew scored once in the fifth. Freshman
Carly Smith led off with a single and eventually scored on a single from junior
Madi Precht.Â
Precht finished 2-for-2 in the second game while Smith made her collegiate debut in the circle, tossing all four innings.
The two sides conclude their series on Monday, when Drew hosts the Royals in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
