Men's Lacrosse Falls to Scranton in Landmark Playoffs

SCRANTON, Pa. - The Drew University men's lacrosse team saw its 2021 season come to a close on Saturday with a 21-1 loss at the University of Scranton in the quarterfinals of the Landmark Conference Championship.

Senior Michael McGeeney finished with 21 saves over 50 minutes of action for the sixth-seeded Rangers. 

Matthew McAree netted four goals and one assist to lead the third-seeded Royals, who move on to the Landmark semifinals to face second-seeded Elizabethtown.

Trailing 4-0 at the end of the first quarter, sophomore Tommy Larmore scored a minute into the second period. However, Scranton shut out the Rangers the rest of the way, with starting goalie Shayne Fallon finishing with 10 saves.

Senior Miles Savage won eight face-offs and picked up five grounds for Drew while junior Paul Le Pera, junior Jack Tynan, and sophomore Craig Wilkie scooped three ground balls apiece.
