MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University men's tennis team will seek its seventh Landmark Conference (LC) title when it hosts the University of Scranton in the LC Championship tournament final on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Simon Forum.
The top-seeded and undefeated Rangers (9-0) and the second-seeded Royals (8-2) are meeting for the third time this season. Drew captured both match-ups by a score of 6-3, handing Scranton its only two losses of the season.
The Rangers have advanced to the final in dominant fashion, defeating eighth-seeded Elizabethtown 5-0 in the quarterfinals before knocking off fourth-seeded Susquehanna by the same score in the semifinals. The team is riding a 24-match winning streak, dating back to the 2019 season. Scranton advanced with a 5-1 quarterfinal win over seventh-seeded Juniata and a 5-4 semifinal win over third-seeded Goucher.
Drew is making its first appearance in the championship final since 2013, when it beat Scranton 5-4 for the program's 13th-straight conference title and sixth-straight Landmark Conference crown. It was also the fourth year in a row that the Rangers defeated the Royals in the Landmark final.
