Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey Edged by Notre Dame (Md.)

BALTIMORE - The Drew University field hockey team led 2-1 at halftime, but Notre Dame (Md.) rallied with a pair of second-half goals and the Gators edged the Rangers 3-2 in a non-conference match-up on Saturday.

Junior Trisha Dominick opened the scoring for Drew, scoring with just under two minutes left in the opening quarter. After Notre Dame tied it with 7:06 left in the second period, Classmate Alexa Thomas put the Rangers back in front just over a minute later when she converted a feed from senior Jinah Cappuccino, and the Blue and Green led 2-1 at the intermission.

The Gators tied it four minutes into the third quarter, then scored the game-winner less than three minutes later. The two sides would play scoreless hockey over the final 23 minutes.

Sophomore Olyvia Jackson finished with a pair of saves in goal for the Rangers.

Drew continues its season on Wednesday, when it hosts Delaware Valley at 7 p.m. in another non-conference outing.
