Emma Bryer scored a goal and classmate
Olyvia Jackson made 14 saves, but the Drew University field hockey team lost 6-1 to the University of Scranton in a Landmark Conference (LC) affair Wednesday evening at Ranger Stadium.

Bridget Abraldes and Katie Redding each scored twice for the Royals (7-3, 2-1 LC), who jumped to a 4-0 halftime lead after scoring three goals in the second quarter.

Scranton fired off 11 shots in the opening quarter, when Jackson collected seven of her saves. The Royals broke open a scoreless game with 3:17 left in the period on a goal from Lauren Franco.

The Royals received their three goals from three different players in their big second quarter, as Abraldes, Redding, and Maeve Kenny scored once apiece. Â Jackson made three more saves, putting her total at 10 for the half.

The two sides played a scoreless third quarter, when Jackson made two more saves. Scranton pushed its lead to 5-0 on Redding's second goal, which was also her conference-leading 13th tally of the season.

Bryer put the Rangers on the scoreboard with 6:33 left in the contest. Senior
Trisha Dominick started the play with a beautiful cross from deep in the right wing, and Bryer reached out for a one-handed tip-in for her second goal of the season.

Scranton set the final score with 10 seconds left on a tip-in from Abraldes.

The Rangers are back in action on Saturday, when they host Landmark Conference foe Elizabethtown College at 1 p.m. on Senior Day.
