MADISON, N.J. – Junior Emma Bryer scored a goal and classmate Olyvia Jackson made 14 saves, but the Drew University field hockey team lost 6-1 to the University of Scranton in a Landmark Conference (LC) affair Wednesday evening at Ranger Stadium.

Bridget Abraldes and Katie Redding each scored twice for the Royals (7-3, 2-1 LC), who jumped to a 4-0 halftime lead after scoring three goals in the second quarter.

Scranton fired off 11 shots in the opening quarter, when Jackson collected seven of her saves. The Royals broke open a scoreless game with 3:17 left in the period on a goal from Lauren Franco.

The Royals received their three goals from three different players in their big second quarter, as Abraldes, Redding, and Maeve Kenny scored once apiece.  Jackson made three more saves, putting her total at 10 for the half.

The two sides played a scoreless third quarter, when Jackson made two more saves. Scranton pushed its lead to 5-0 on Redding's second goal, which was also her conference-leading 13th tally of the season.

Bryer put the Rangers on the scoreboard with 6:33 left in the contest. Senior Trisha Dominick started the play with a beautiful cross from deep in the right wing, and Bryer reached out for a one-handed tip-in for her second goal of the season.

Scranton set the final score with 10 seconds left on a tip-in from Abraldes.

The Rangers are back in action on Saturday, when they host Landmark Conference foe Elizabethtown College at 1 p.m. on Senior Day.
