MADISON, N.J. – Four members of the Drew University competed in the singles B draw on the third and final day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Northeast Region Championship on Sunday in the Simon Forum.
Of the four, senior
Leo Ambrogio had the closest match, battling his opponent, Caden Marston of RPI, to a three-set verdict. Marston claimed the opener 4-2 before Ambrogio rallied to win the second, 5-4 (7-5). Marston then edged Ambrogio in a close tiebreaker, 7-5.
It was the only loss of the tournament for Ambrogio, who had opened with four straight victories.

Santo Carroccia also played in one match apiece on Sunday but lost to opponents from RPI and Skidmore.
Drew was hosting an ITA Regional for the first time in team history and was competing at the event for the first time since 2015. The event serves as a singles and doubles championship for the 72 schools in the Northeast region. The finalists in both singles and doubles qualify for the ITA Cup National Championships.
The Rangers (1-0) close out their fall schedule on Saturday, when they host Division I Wagner at 1 p.m.
