ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Drew received goals from four different players, as the Drew field hockey team posted a 4-1 triumph on Thursday at Cedar Crest.
The Rangers (5-8) return home on Saturday for a Landmark Conference game at 1:00 p.m. against Juniata.
Drew opened the scoring at the 8:42 mark of the first quarter on a nice effort by
Maxine Lloyd. Lloyd's initial shot got past keeper Kendall Heiney, but was cleared away by a defender. Lloyd persisted on the play, knocking down the clearing attempt and swatting in her seventh tally of the season.
Trisha Dominick doubled the advantage for the visitors with 7:10 showing on the clock in the second frame, blasting a shot from inside the top of the arc. The score was her second of the season with assist from Lloyd.
Janelle Arch made it 3-0 Rangers 1:42 later off a scramble on the right side of the net on a play that started on a penalty corner.
The Falcons cut into the difference with a goal in the final minute by Morgan Frantz to make it a 3-1 contest at the half.
In the third quarter, Drew made it a 4-1 game with 5:54 remaining. Lloyd had a long hit from into the arc that
Alexa Thomas redirected into the net for her team-leading eighth goal.
Neither team got onto the scoreboard in the final 15 minutes, keeping the final score at 4-1.

Olyvia Jackson finished with seven saves to earn the win. Jackson and the entire Ranger defense did a good job in holding Cedar Crest's Kiley Marone scoreless. The Falcon entered the game second nationally in goals per game (1.58 gpg) and tied for sixth in overall goals (19).
