Frederick, Meyers Lift Rangers Over Juniata

Huntingdon, Pa. - The Drew University women's basketball team scored a crucial 69-45 win at Juniata College in a Landmark Conference matchup Saturday afternoon.

Senior center Erin Frederick and junior guard Joey Meyers did the heavy lifting, combining for 45 total points and 15 rebounds.

Now sitting at 15-6 overall and 6-6 in Landmark Conference play, the Rangers continue to lead Moravian University (5-7 LC) by one game for the final spot in the conference playoffs.

For Frederick and Meyers, this was the fourth and fifth times this season, respectively, that they scored at least 20 points in a game.

Frederick finished with 23 points, going 8-for-14 from the field and 7-for-8 at the foul line, while grabbing seven rebounds. She was perfect (4-4 FG, 6-6 FT) in the opening half.

As for Meyers, she finished with an equally impressive 22 points overall, going 7-for-7 on free throws to go with four assists and eight rebounds.

A key factor for the Rangers was their ability to consistently force and score on turnovers. Drew recorded 18 steals and scored 18 points off of 24 Juniata turnovers.

The win was never in doubt for Drew, which led by nine at the end of the first quarter and 20 (41-21) at the half.
