MADISON, N.J. - Skidmore College handed the Drew University men's lacrosse team its first home loss of the season, topping the Rangers 24-4 in a non-conference matchup in Ranger Stadium.

Freshman Mike DeMayo netted two goals and one assist for the Rangers (5-2), who had started the season 4-0 at home. Junior Craig Wilkie added one goal and one assist.

But the biggest highlight of the day for Drew was the triumphant return of senior goalie Anthony Tufaro. In his first game back from a serious accident during the offseason, he entered the game in the fourth quarter and went on to rack up eight saves. He was on point from the moment he stopped on the field, stopping the first six shots he faced, including several from point-blank range.

Senior Jeremy Gottlieb collected nine saves over the first three quarters while sophomore LSM David Burke posted three caused turnovers.

Jon Bouvier scored four goals to lead the Thoroughbreds (5-2).

Skidmore jumped to a 7-0 halftime lead, then tacked on four goals to assume an 11-0 halftime advantage. The visitors threw in 10 more goals in the third quarter before the Rangers got on the scoreboard, scoring four of the first five goals to open the period. Along with DeMayo and Wilkie, junior Tommy Larmore also found the back of the net.

The Rangers resume their schedule on Wednesday, when they visit Lycoming College in a non-conference tilt starting at 7 p.m.
