ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Drew University women's tennis team won two of three doubles points, then went 5-1 in singles play to earn a 7-2 victory at Elizabethtown College in its Landmark Conference opener on Saturday.
The Rangers (4-7, 1-0 LC) opened with an 8-6 victory from junior
Sanne Bloemendaal and senior
Kate Gangi at No. 2 doubles before freshman
Courtney Bresler and junior
Danielle DelRosso won 8-3 at No. 3 doubles, giving Drew its 2-1 lead.
The Blue and Green went on to sweep the bottom five ladders in singles action. Freshman
Mary Kalorin and Bloemendaal earned flawless 6-0, 6-0 victories at Nos. 2-3 singles while sophomoreÂ
Taylor Dombalis (6-2, 6-3 at No. 4), DelRosso (6-2, 6-3 at No. 5), and Gangi (6-2, 6-3 at No. 6) were also victorious.
The Rangers continue their schedule on Sunday, when they host Kean University at 10 a.m. in the Simon Forum.
