MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University women's tennis team earned its first home victory of the season with a 9-0 victory over Kean University in a non-conference match Sunday morning in the Simon Forum.
The Rangers (4-8) started the match by sweeping the doubles competition. Sophomore
Melina Christodoulou and freshman
Mary Kalorin won 8-0 at No. 1, as did junior
Sanne Bloemendaal and senior
Kate Gangi at No. 2. Freshman
Courtney Bresler and junior
Danielle DelRosso added an 8-4 victory at the third spot.
Christodoulou also prevailed at No. 1 singles, winning 6-2, 6-2, while Kalorin was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 2. Bloemendaal earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 3 while sophomore
Taylor Dombalis rallied for a 0-6, 6-4, 10-4 triumph at No. 4. DelRosso (8-1) and Gangi (8-2) captured victories at Nos. 5-6 singles, respectively.
The Rangers return to action on Saturday, when they host Moravian University at 1 p.m. in a Landmark Conference tilt.
