TOWSON, Md. – Natalia Zamora has been selected as the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women's tennis, conference officials announced on Wednesday.
The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics. The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications directors, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designees.
Zamora becomes Drew's third Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year this season, joining
Emily Camlet C'26 (women's indoor track & field) and
Roxy Riles C'26 (women's golf). She is also the third consecutive Ranger to win the award in women's tennis, following
Mary Kalorin C'25 and Melina Christodoulou C'24.
On the court, Zamora helped the Rangers to an outstanding four-year run that included a 52-31 (27-7 Landmark) record, four consecutive appearances in the Landmark Conference Championships, and back-to-back Landmark titles in 2023 and 2024. She captured All-Landmark Conference Honorable Mention recognition in singles in 2023-24, when she finished 10-6, mostly at the No. 4 position. She also recorded a 9-2 singles record in 2022-23, competing at the Nos. 5-6 spots. Zamora also played at No. 3 singles as a junior and No. 2 singles during her senior campaign and finished her career with a 30-26 singles mark. She also competed at No. 1 doubles during her senior campaign. In addition, Zamora was a member of Drew's equestrian team during her freshman season.
In the classroom, Zamora was an Anthropology major and an Africana Studies and Teaching minor who held down a 3.56 GPA. She was twice named to the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll and also captured a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team this past spring. In addition, she became a member of the Lambda Alpha National Anthropology Honor Society, the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society, and the Tri Alpha Honor Society for first-generation college students.
Zamora was also heavily involved in numerous additional activities during her time at Drew. She was a two-year treasurer for both Drew's Connect for Kids club as well as its Catholic Campus Ministry. In addition, she served as a women's tennis representative for Drew's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She interned at Park Elementary School in Newark as a senior, when she also completed an independent study on foraging societies in the Congo basin.
