SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Drew University women's tennis team ran its winning streak to five matches with a 7-2 Landmark Conference victory at Susquehanna University on Sunday.
The Rangers, on their longest winning streak since the 2016-17 season, are now 7-8 on the season but 4-0 in Landmark Conference action.
Drew opened by winning two of three doubles matches to assume a 2-1 lead. Sophomore
Melina Christodoulou and freshman
Mary Kalorin won 8-4 at No. 1 while freshman
Courtney Bresler and junior
Danielle DelRosso pulled out an 8-7 (7-2) tiebreaker at No. 3.
Christodoulou, Kalorin, and DelRosso went on to earn a second victory with their singles wins. Christodoulou prevailed 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 while Kalorin (6-2, 6-2) and DelRosso (6-4, 6-2) each won in straight sets. Additional victories were turned in by junior
Sanne Bloemendaal at No. 3 (6-3, 6-4) and senior
Kate Gangi at No. 6 (6-4, 7-5).
The Rangers pick up their schedule on Wednesday, when they host the University of Scranton at 4 p.m. in a Landmark Conference affair.
