MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University women's tennis team improved to 5-0 in Landmark Conference play with a 7-2 victory over the University of Scranton Wednesday afternoon at the Drew Tennis Complex.

The Rangers also evened their overall record at 8-8. Scranton fell to 7-5 and 1-1 in the conference.

Drew's victory over the Royals was its first since a 7-2 win during the 2016-17 season, which is also the last time the Rangers were 5-0 in the Landmark.

Drew assumed an early 2-1 lead after winning two of the three doubles points. Sophomore Melina Christodoulou and freshman Mary Kalorin won 8-5 at No. 1 while freshman Courtney Bresler and junior Danielle DelRosso claimed an 8-6 decision at No. 3.

Christodoulou also won on a tiebreaker in singles, posting a 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 10-3 victory at No. 1. Kalorin recorded a perfect 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2 while junior Sanne Bloemendaal registered a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 3. DelRosso (6-1, 6-3 at No. 4) and senior Kate Gangi (6-4, 6-3 at No. 5) rounded out Drew's singles winners.

The Rangers continue their three-match week on Saturday, when they host Goucher College at 1 p.m. in another Landmark Conference affair.
