Men’s Tennis Captures Season Opener

Box Score MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's tennis team opened its 2022-23 season on a high note, topping Manhattanville College 6-3 in a non-conference tilt Tuesday afternoon at the Drew Tennis Complex.
 
The Rangers opened by winning two of the three doubles points. Seniors Avi Perera and Bret Schuler won 8-5 at No. 1 while senior Leo Ambrogio and junior Daryl Wong picked up an 8-6 victory at No. 2.
 
Drew went on to claim four of the six singles matches. Wong was a 6-2, 6-3 winner at No. 2 while senior Dan Blumenthal previlaed 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3. Ambrogio captured a 6-2, 6-0 decision at No. 5, and Schuler picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6.
 
The Rangers will now compete in the ITA Division III Northeast Regional Championships, which are hosted by Drew from Friday through Sunday.
