Box Score 2 GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Drew University women's volleyball team opened its second season of play with a split on Friday at the Gettysburg College Battlefield Classic.
The Rangers started the day with a 3-1 victory over Bridgewater (Va.) before falling 3-2 to Salisbury.
Versus Bridgewater, sophomore
Andrea Camacho-Tenreiro led the Blue and Green with 14 kills and 14 digs. Sophomore
Ashley Carkhuff added a double-double of her own with 12 kills and 11 digs while classmate
Jasmine Butler handed out 35 assists. Defensively, sophomore
Lauren Gaza scooped 16 digs while freshman
Marissa Guajardo notched four blocks. The Rangers served up 11 aces, with Carkhuff, Gaza, and junior
Leila Ksiyer posting three apiece.
Against Salisbury, Camacho-Tenreiro paced Drew once again with 22 kills and 13 digs. Junior
Melina Christodoulou posted 10 kills and three solo blocks while Butler distributed 44 assists. Gaza collected 28 digs while Guajardo fired up another three aces.
The Rangers conclude tournament play on Saturday, facing Gettysburg at 11 a.m. and Montclair State at 1 p.m.
