MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's soccer team posted its second consecutive shutout as the Rangers played Goucher College to a scoreless tie in a cold and rainy Ranger Stadium on Saturday.
It was the first tie of the season for the Rangers (9-5-1, 4-1-1 LC), who had not played to a draw since their 1-1 verdict at William Paterson on Oct. 5 of last season.
Drew, which remains in second place in the Landmark Conference standings, controlled possession throughout the match and outshot the Gophers 17-0. However, Madison Gutierrez made seven saves for Goucher (3-4-6, 0-3-3 LC), with five coming in the second half.
Of Drew's seven shots on goal, two were taken by junior
Alexa Krause.
Freshman
Sarah Crowley did not need to make save to record her fourth clean sheet of the season for the Rangers.
Drew returns to Landmark Conference action on Tuesday, when it hosts the University of Scranton at 7 p.m. in a rematch of last season's conference championship match.
