MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's swimming & diving team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 192-107 victory over Montclair State University on Saturday in F.M. Kirby Pool.
The Rangers captured 12 events and junior
Hayden Koh contributed to four of those victories. He won three events outright, touching first in the 200-butterfly (1:53.52), 200-backstroke (1:55.55), and the 200-IM (1:59.17). He also led off for the winning 200-medley relay (1:34.70).
Senior
Finn Armitt and freshman
Nicholas Heinio-Widell captured two individual events each for the Rangers. Armitt prevailed the 100-butterfly (50.91) and 200-freestyle (1:45.48) while also swimming on both the winning 200-medley and 200-freestyle (1:27.10) relays.
Heinio-Widell continued the strong start to his career with victories in both the 50-freestyle (21.53) and the 100-freestyle (47.60). In the 100, he led a 1-2-3 Drew finish, as sophomore
Brendan Burkett placed second (49.05) and senior
Luke Stevens took third (49.09). Heinio-Widell also anchored on the winning 200-medley relay relay.
Freshman
Liam Gregory added a victory in the 1,000-freestyle (10:08.68) while senior
Jonathan Benowitz (1-meter diving, 154.80) and junior
Yan Zheng Lew (500-freestyle, 4:54.79) earned one win apiece.
Sophomore
Gabe Spivak also swam on Drew's winning 200-medley relay while Burkett, freshman
Kyle Talerico, and Stevens joined Armitt on the victories 200-free squad.
The Rangers continue their season Nov. 3-4 at the NYU Invitational.
