It was a back-and-forth affair in the early going and Drew led 5-4 at the end of the first quarter. DeMayo provided a spark at the end of the period for the Rangers, scoring twice in a 39-second span inside the last two minutes.
Drew edged in front 8-6 at halftime before both sides heated up offensively in the third quarter, when each team tossed in six goals. Curley and DeMayo scored one goal each to put the Rangers up 10-6, but Albright answered with a 6-1 run to assume a 12-11 lead with 5:19 remaining in the third quarter. However, that's when Drew put the game out of reach with a 7-0 run spanning the third and fourth quarters to open up an 18-12 lead with 8:39 left. Six different Rangers scored during the decisive stretch.
The Lions struck for back-to-back goals to make it 18-14 with 4:54 to go, but the Rangers would shut out the hosts the rest of the way.
Drew picks up its schedule next Saturday, when they visit local rival FDU-Florham at 1 p.m. in a non-conference outing.
