MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's tennis team captured a 9-0 non-conference victory over Yeshiva University in the Simon Forum on Tuesday.
The Rangers (4-3) opened with convincing doubles wins by senior
Bret Schuler and junior
Daryl Wong Li-Hom at No. 1 (8-3), seniors
Leo Ambrogio and
Dan Blumenthal at No. 2 (8-2), and senior
John Dickey and junior
Jack Polvere at No. 3 (8-0).
Three Rangers went on to pick up a second win in singles play: Wong Li-Hom at No. 1 (6-1, 6-1), Ambrogio at No. 2 (6-0, 6-2), and Schuler at No. 4 (6-1, 6-2).
Freshman
Shivi Perera added a three-set victory at No. 3 (6-4, 4-6, 10-3) while junior
Santo Carroccia cruised at No. 5 (6-0, 6-1). In addition, sophomore
Sergey Kravchenko come from behind to pull out a tough three-set verdict (3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-2).
Drew plays its Landmark Conference opener on Saturday, when it visits Moravian University at 1 p.m.
