BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Drew University men's tennis team won all three doubles matches and four of six singles contests en route to a 7-2 victory at Moravian University in its Landmark Conference opener on Saturday.
With the win, the Rangers (5-3, 1-0 LC) captured their 17th consecutive match in Landmark Conference regular-season play.
Capturing two wins apiece were junior
Daryl Wong Li-Hom, freshman
Shivi Perera, and senior
Bret Schuler.
In doubles action, senior
Avi Perera and Wong Li-Hom won 8-2 at No. 1. Senior
Leo Ambrogio and Schuler added an 8-3 victory at No. 2 while senior
John Dickey and junior
Jack Polvere pulled out a tight 8-7 (7-4) decision at No. 3.
The Rangers went on to post four convincing straight-set wins in singles action: Wong Li-Hom at No. 1 (6-2, 6-3),
Shivi Perera at No. 4 (6-3, 6-1), Schuler at No. 5 (6-4, 6-3), and junior
Santo Carroccia at No. 6 (6-3, 6-4).
Drew picks its schedule next Saturday, when it hosts Juniata College at 1 p.m. in another Landmark Conference affair.
