MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University men's tennis team opened a two-match weekend with an 8-1 victory over Juniata College on Saturday in the Simon Forum.
With the win, the Rangers (6-3, 2-0 LC) won their 18th consecutive match in Landmark Conference regular-season play.
Drew jumped out to a 3-0 lead after sweeping the doubles matches. Senior
Avi Perera and junior
Daryl Wong Li-Hom won 8-2 at No. 1 while junior
Santo Carroccia and senior
John Dickey captured an 8-1 decision at No. 2. Seniors
Leo Ambrogio and
Bret Schuler contributed an 8-0 triumph at No. 3.
The Rangers went on to win at Nos. 2-6 singles.
Avi Perera (No. 2),
Shivi Perera (No. 4), and Schuler (No. 5) all cruised to 6-0, 6-0 wins by Ambrogio posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3. Carroccia added a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6.
Drew concludes its weekend series on Sunday, when it hosts Susquehanna University in another Landmark Conference affair starting at noon.
