MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 victory in Landmark Conference action Sunday afternoon at the Drew Tennis Complex.
The Rangers (7-3, 3-0 LC) won their fourth match in a row and extended their winning streak to 19 in Landmark Conference regular-season play.
Drew opened by sweeping the three doubles points, getting victories from senior
Avi Perera and junior
Daryl Wong Li-Hom at No. 1 (8-1), seniors
Dan Blumenthal and
John Dickey at No. 2 (8-2), and seniors
Leo Ambrogio and
Bret Schuler at No. 3 (8-0).
The Rangers closed the match going 6-for-6 in singles action. Wong Li-Hom earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1 while Perera captured a 6-0, 6-0 decision at No. 2. Ambrogio prevailed 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 while Schuler rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 win at No. 4. Junior
Santo Carroccia added a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 5, and Dickey was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at No. 6.
Drew returns to action on Saturday, when it visits Goucher College at 1 p.m. in a rematch of last year's Landmark Conference championship match.
