ASTON, Pa. – The Drew University men's volleyball team earned its sixth sweep of the season with a 3-0 victory at Neumann University Wednesday evening.
The Rangers (7-14) won by scores of 25-13, 25-7, and 25-13.
Freshman
Tynoah Ehia threw down a season-high 10 kills for Drew, which hit .307 for its fourth-best attack percentage .4of the season. Sophomore
Ephraim Smith added nine kills and 13 digs while classmate
Jacob Sledz hit .583 on eight kills and just one error on 12 swings. He also served up seven aces, tying for second-most in team history.
Sophomore
Huriel Perez handed out 36 assists for the Rangers while classmate
Bryan Do posted 14 digs.
Veryl Burns led the Knights (5-14) with seven kills.
Drew trailed just once on the night – at 1-0 in the second set. The Rangers jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead in the opener and after extending it to 14-6, they led by at least eight the rest of the way.
In the second set, Drew led 11-5 before settling any doubt with a 14-2 run to end the period which the Rangers hit .419 (14 kills, one error, 31 attempts).
Drew started the final set on an 11-2 run and led by at least six the rest of the way.
The Rangers return to the court next Wednesday, when they visit Arcadia University in a 7 p.m. start.
