WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Freshman Elliot Parker of the Drew University men's golf team turned in a tremendous performance in the second and final round of The Ruckus on Sunday at Williamsburg National Golf Club.

After opening with a 75 on Saturday, Parker entered Sunday's round six strokes off the lead. But he closed with a school record, 4-under-par 68 and finished the tournament with a 1-under 143 to win by one stroke over Carter Hassenplug of Allegheny College. He led the Rangers to a third-place finish in a competitive field of 11, as the Blue and Green shot a 615 (308-307).

It was the first collegiate victory for Parker, who fired seven birdies and eight pars on Sunday. He shaved one stroke off the previous school record for 18 holes shared by senior Lucas Artigliere and sophomore Mike Ford, and he fell just one stroke shy of the 36-hole Drew standard shared by Artigliere, Ford, and freshman Bryce Garnier.

Turning in Drew's second-best score was freshman Daniel Holden, who tied for 11th among 63 competitors with a 154 (78-76). Classmate Shiv Bhaskar tied for 14th with a 156 (76-80) while Artigliere rounded out the team scoring, tying for 31st with a 162 (79-83). Ford was also in action and shot a 176 (87-89). In addition, freshman Matt Ingram competed as an individual and carded a 170 (80-90).

The Rangers will return to action April 10-11 at the Alvernia Invitational.
