HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The Drew University men's golf team completed the third round of play at the NCAA Division III men's golf championships on Thursday in Florida.
Competing at the El Campeon course of the Mission Resort and Club, the Rangers shot a 302 (+14) and currently find themselves in 16th place heading into the final round of competition on Friday.
Drew was making its debut competing beyond the second round at the NCAA Division III Championships after making the cut for the first time in team history.
Senior
Elliot Parker and junior
Thomas Hurley led the Rangers on Thursday, with each shooting a 74 (+2). Parker, who shot four birdies on Thursday, is tied for 11th place with a 2-under-par 213 (69-70-74), which places him five strokes off the lead.
Hurley birdied six holes on Thursday, including four on the back-9, where he shot a 2-under-35. He is now tied for 69th place with a 10-over 225 (75-76-74).
Sophomore
Sam Dolan finished just one stroke behind Parker and Hurley on Thursday with a 75. He also fired a 35 on the back-9, where he notched a pair of birdies and shot even-par on the other seven holes. He enters the final round in 72nd place with an 11-over 226 (76-75-75).
Junior
Avery Cohen finished with a 79 (+7) and is now tied for 78th with a 13-over 228 (77-72-79). He shot three birdies on Thursday.
Senior
Shiv Bhaskar is also in action and is tied for 93rd with a 238 (81-76-81). He carded two birdies in the third round.
Round Four will start at 8 a.m. on Friday, with Drew teeing off at 9:50 a.m. with John Carroll University and Transylvania University.
