MOHNTON, Pa. – The Drew University men's golf team placed fourth among 12 teams at the Alvernia Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday at the LedgeRock Golf Club.
The Rangers shot a 611 (299-312) for the 36-hole event, finishing just four strokes behind York (Pa.), Stevens, and Eastern, who finished in a three-way tie for first place. York captured the team title by virtue of a tiebreaker.
Leading the way for Drew was freshman
Elliot Parker, who took runner-up honors in the field of 60 with a 146 (71-75), just four strokes behind medalist Miles Philion of Stevens. Classmate
Bryce Garnier tied for 14th with a 153 (71-82) while first-year
Shiv Bhaskar tied for 16th with a 155 (79-76). Sophomore
Mike Ford (83-79) and junior
Myles Cherry (78-84) each shot a 162, tying for 30th.
The Rangers continue their season on Saturday and Sunday, when they host the Garden State Collegiate Classic at Hawke Point Golf Club in Washington, New Jersey.
