MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's tennis team saw its eight-match winning streak come to a close with a tight 5-4 loss to Ursinus College in a non-conference match on Friday at the Drew University Tennis Complex.
The Rangers (11-4) jumped to a 2-1 lead following doubles play, only to see the Bears (12-5) rally to win four of the six singles matches.
In doubles, senior
Avi Perera and junior
Daryl Wong Li-Hom earned a 8-6 decision at No. 1 while seniors
Leo Ambrogio and
Bret Schuler captured an 8-6 decision at No. 2.
Ursinus came back to win at the top four singles flights. The Rangers received victories from Schuler at No. 5 (7-5, 6-1) and senior
John Dickey at No. 6 (6-4, 6-4).
Drew returns to action on Saturday, when it hosts Landmark Conference foe Elizabethtown College at noon on Senior Day.
