WASHINGTON, N.J. – Led by individual winner Elliot Parker, the Drew University men's golf team shattered the school record for 18 holes while winning the ultra-competitive Garden State Collegiate Classic on Sunday at Hawke Point Golf Club.

The Rangers fired a 3-under-par 285, slicing six strokes from the previous school record set three times this season, most recently at the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 2. They finished four strokes in front of Arcadia while Stevens (292), York (Pa.) (293), and Farmingdale State (295) rounded out the top-five.

Seven of the 10 teams broke 300 on the day. The tournament featured five schools (Drew, Stevens, York, Farmingdale State, Cabrini) that appeared in the NCAA's first Division III regional rankings that were released earlier this week.

Drew also fielded a "B" team that shot a 305 to finish in eighth place.

Parker carded a 4-under 68, tying his own school record set at The Ruckus on March 18-19 while edging out Moravian's Jake Haberstumpf by one stroke. The first-year posted five birdies and 12 pars on the day en route to his second collegiate medalist honor, as he also won The Ruckus.

The title was Drew's first of the season and fifth in team history since becoming a varsity program in 2017-18.

The tournament was originally scheduled as a 36-hole event, but inclement weather forced Saturday's opening round to be canceled.

Freshman Bryce Garnier also turned in a tremendous performance, firing a season-best, 2-under-par 70 to tie for third place in the field of 59. Junior Myles Cherry shot a 72 – just one stroke shy of his career-low – and tied for eighth place. Freshman Shiv Bhaskar and sophomore Mike Ford each notched a 75 to wrap up the "A" squad's record-setting performance.

Six additional Rangers competed as a member of the B team or as individuals. For the B team, freshman Daniel Holden recorded an impressive 71 – two strokes better than his season-low – and tied for fifth place. Freshman Matt Ingram posted a 75 while junior Matvey Pangan registered a season-best 79. Freshman Austin Chilles shot an 80 to complete the team score while classmate Max Conklin recorded an 85. Junior Ryan Firman was also in action as an individual and shot an 84.

The Rangers continue their season with the Landmark Conference Championships, hosted by Susquehanna University, on April 28-29 at Mountain View Country Club in Boalsburg, Pa.
