BOALSBURG, Pa. – The Drew University men's golf team shot a 314 and lead by two strokes after the opening round of the Landmark Conference Championships at a wet Mountain View Country Club on Friday.
In the individual standings, freshman
Elliot Parker is currently tied with Catholic's Colin Coogan for first place with a 73 (+3). Competing in the rain for much of the day, he birdied his first three holes and finished with four total.
Catholic and Scranton are tied for second with a 316 and are followed by Goucher (323), Moravian (327), Susquehanna (340), Elizabethtown (349), and Juniata (349).
Junior
Myles Cherry posted Drew's second-best opening-round score, carding a 77 while notching a pair of birdies to place him in a tie for third in the field of 40. Freshman
Bryce Garnier also birdied two holes and is tied for fifth with a 79 while sophomore
Mike Ford is 26th with an 85. Freshman
Shiv Bhaskar is also competing and is tied for 27th with an 86, which included one birdie.
The second and final round will take place back at the same course on Saturday, with tee times starting at 9:33 a.m.
