LONG VALLEY, N.J. – Freshman Alyx Swope-Bell of the Drew University equestrian team accomplished a major achievement on Saturday at the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) Zone 3 Championships on Saturday at the Centenary Equestrian Center.
 
Swope-Bell qualified for the IHSA National Championships, which will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park May 4-7. She will show in intermediate fences.
 
The first equestrienne to compete at the IHSA Zone Championships since 2018, Swope-Bell becomes Drew's first national qualifier since Claudia Payor C'19 made it in open equitation over fences in 2017.
