Women’s Soccer Falls to RPI

MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in non-conference play on Saturday.
 
The Engineers (3-0-2) scored twice in each half to remain undefeated on the season.
 
RPI scored in the 10th minute to assume an early lead, then struck again in the 32nd minute to assume a 2-0 halftime lead.
 
The hosts completed the scoring with two more goals in the opening 14 minutes of the second half.
 
The Rangers (3-4) attempted 10 shots in the game, including six that were on goal. Juniors Isabella Grof-Tisza and Alexa Krause each placed two shots on frame.
 
Freshman Sarah Crowley made two saves over the opening 60 minutes before classmate Darcy Debenedittis also stopped two shots while playing the final 30.
 
Megan Wampner played the opening half in goal for RPI and made one save before Sierra Skelding made five saves in the second period.
 
The Rangers resume their schedule on Tuesday, when they host Delaware Valley at 7 p.m. in another non-conference affair.
