Amira Hadri and junior
Sam Trodick won three individual events apiece, but the University of Scranton edged the Drew University women's swimming & diving team 156-143 on Senior Day in F.M. Kirby Pool on Saturday.
The Rangers honored their seven seniors, along with the six seniors from the men's team, in a ceremony before the meet.
Hadri touched first in the 100-backstroke (59.26), the 50-freestyle (25.44), and the 100-freestyle (54.37) while Trodick prevailed in the 100-breaststroke (1:08.32), 200-breaststroke (2:27.16), and the 200-IM (2:14.20).
Earning one individual victory apiece were junior
Katerina Poulathas in the 1,000-freestyle (10:43.62) and sophomore
Ece Onatca in the 200-backstroke (2:09.38).
Additionally, the Rangers finished 1-2 in a pair of events. Onatca took second behind Hadri in the 100-backstroke (59.92) while sophomore
Kaitlyn Zayle was the runner-up after Hadri in the 50-freestyle (25.87).
Onatca also placed second in the 100-butterfly (1:01.83), as did senior
Emma Boggs in the 3-meter diving (196.08).
Drew also earned a victory in the 200-medley relay, as Hadri, Trodick, Onatca, and Zayle teamed up for a winning time of 1:49.59.
Drew is now off until Feb. 15-18, when it competes at the Landmark Conference Championships, held at Mangione Aquatic Center at Loyola University in Baltimore.
