SCRANTON, Pa. – The Drew University field hockey team lost by a final of 7-0 to 23rd-ranked University of Scranton in a Landmark Conference matchup Tuesday evening.
Six players scored a goal for the Royals (15-2, 6-1 LC), who led 2-0 at halftime before pulling away with five tallies in the second half.
Sophomore
Beth Kelly made 11 saves for the Rangers (8-8, 2-5 LC), who were playing their first nationally-ranked opponents since they took on No. 17 Susquehanna University on Oct. 2, 2021.
The two sides played to a scoreless opening quarter before Scranton scored twice in the second period. The Royals added three goals in the third quarter and two in the fourth.

Lauren Cagliostro and freshman
Emily Caporrino each attempted a shot on goal for the Rangers.
Drew returns to action on Saturday, when it travels to Lycoming College for a Landmark Conference tilt starting at noon.
