MADISON, N.J. –
The Drew University field hockey team will embark into the postseason for the first time since 2013 when it visits 25th-ranked University of Scranton on Saturday in the first round of the Landmark Conference Championships.

The Rangers (10-8, 4-5 LC) earned the No. 6 seed in the tournament while Scranton (16-3, 7-2 LC) captured the No. 3 seed.

Tickets for the game may be purchased in advance through HomeTown Ticketing at https://landmarkconference.org/sports/2022/4/25/championships-tickets.aspx?path=champs. Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $5 and for minors (age 10-17), and free for children under 10 and all Landmark Conference students, faculty, and staff with a valid school ID.

The winner of the game will advance to the tournament semifinals and visit second-seeded Catholic on Wednesday. The championship game will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9. The higher-seeded team will serve as the host throughout the playoffs.

In the other first-round matchup, fifth-seeded Juniata will visit fourth-seeded Moravian. The winner will take on top-seeded Susquehanna in the semifinals.

For the second year in a row, the top six teams in the final Landmark Conference standings qualify for the conference championship tournament. Prior to last season, the top four teams in the conference standings qualified for the playoffs, but with the addition of Lycoming and Wilkes in 2023 bringing the total number of conference members to 10, the top six now move on. The top two teams now receive a first-round bye.

Under Head Coach Summer Kortmann, the Rangers have posted their highest overall and conference victory totals since the 2013 squad finished 16-4 and 6-0 in conference play. Saturday's game will mark Drew's first postseason contest since a 4-3 overtime loss to Alvernia in the quarterfinals of the 2013 ECAC Championships.

Drew is making its seventh appearance in the Landmark Conference Championships and is seeking its first conference playoff victory since a 2-1 overtime win over Scranton at Catholic in the 2012 semifinals.

The Rangers will enter the tournament ranked third in the Landmark Conference in scoring, averaging 2.28 goals per outing. The senior trio of Janelle Arch, Lauren Cagliostro, and Tyler Olivio have combined for 29 of the team's 41 goals on the season, with Olivio leading the way with 11 tallies. Arch has added nine goals and five assists while Cagliostro has contributed nine goals and three helpers. Additionally, sophomore Emma Rider has notched three goals and a team-high seven assists.

On the defensive end, sophomore Beth Kelly has played all but 45 minutes between the pipes for the Rangers, posting a 2.44 goals-against average and a .721 save percentage along with two shutouts.
