Drew trailed 50-32 with 5:57 left in the third quarter before embarking on its comeback. The Rangers ended the period on an 8-2 run, capped by a foul-line jumper at the buzzer from senior forward
Gracie Hezel off an inbound play, to make it a 52-40 game heading into the fourth quarter.
The Rangers went on to outscore the Lions 22-10 over the final 10 minutes of regulation. Rachilla scored 10 of Drew's points in the final quarter, including a pair of free throws with 3:22 remaining the pulled her team even at 58-all. Raritan Valley's Julia Fontanillo answered with a jumper before Pica hit 1-of-2 free throws to make it 60-59 with 1:39 left.
Fontanillo dropped in a lay-up with 1:05 showing to put the visitors up 62-59. Both sides then came up empty on their next two possessions, as Drew committed a pair of turnovers while the Lions missed four straight foul shots.
Following a timeout with 15 seconds left, Rachilla found Lalo open deep in the left wing. Lalo's shot found nothing but net, and the Rangers forced a turnover at the other end before calling another timeout. Drew had a chance to win it at the buzzer but Pica's running 3-pointer from the right wing bounced off the rim.
The Lions hit a 3-pointer on the opening possession of overtime, but lay-ups from junior forward
Brenna Hezel and Pica put the Rangers up 67-66 with 3:33 to go. A bucket from Fontanillo gave Raritan Valley its final lead before Pica knocked down a jumper with 2:53 left to give the Rangers a 68-67 edge.
A basket from Diaz handed Drew a three-point lead with 2:17 remaining, but the Lions refused to go away, scoring the next four points to go up 71-70 with 1:25 left. However, that's when Rachilla drove hard down the lane, dropped in a layup and hit the ensuing free throw for a go-ahead, old-fashioned 3-point play with 1:03 left that made it 73-71.
After the Lions missed a 3-pointer, junior guard
Maddie Beyer came up with the rebound before hitting a pair of free throws with five seconds left to set the final score.
