MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's tennis team won at Nos. 1-2 singles, but Washington College topped the Rangers 5-4 in a non-conference match on Friday in the Simon Forum.
Drew led 2-0 before the match started due to the Shorewomen (1-1) forfeiting No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles. Washington came back vin at Nos. 1-2 doubles to tie the match at 2-2.
The Rangers went on to capture their two singles victories, with senior
Melina Christodoulou prevailing 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and junior
Mary Kalorin posting a 7-6 (2), 6-1 win at No. 2. But the Shorewomen won at Nos. 3-5 singles matches to clinch the win.
Drew continues its season on March 6, when it hosts Stevens at 4 p.m.
