MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University women's lacrosse team broke the school record for goals in a game in its 26-15 victory over cross-town rival FDU-Florham on Thursday in Ranger Stadium.
Seven different players accounted for all of Drew's goals as the Rangers surpassed the former school record set in a 25-12 victory at Elizabethtown College on March 29, 2003.
The Rangers (4-3), who outshot the Devils 48-28, have now won four of their last five games while scoring 81 goals in their four victories.
Senior
Lizzy Barrett posted six goals and two assists to lead Drew while classmate
Ella Champigny added four goals, two assists, and seven draw controls. Freshman
Grace Patane scored four goals, and sophomore
Aubrey Welch contributed three goals, one assist, and six draw controls. Senior
Emma DiPatri also posted three goals and one assist, sophomore

Madi Strong scored three goals each, and freshman
Paige Shaw collected six saves.
Jenna Ranney and Claudia Zappia scored four goals apiece to lead FDU (2-2).
The Rangers led just 7-6 at the end of the first quarter, when Champigny scored three of her goals, then edged the Devils 5-2 in the second quarter to open up a four-goal lead at the half. Drew then broke it open when it erupted for an eight-goal third quarter in which five different Rangers found the back of the net. Barrett and DiPatri struck for two apiece as the hosts carried a 20-12 lead into the final period.
The Rangers tossed in six more goals for good measure in the final quarter, as Welch, Barrett, and Strong netted two apiece. Welch scored Drew's record-breaking tally with 1:29 left, setting the final score.
Drew returns to action on Wednesday, when it visits Kean University at 4 p.m. in a non-conference affair.
