MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's tennis team registered an 8-1 win over Susquehanna University on Saturday in the Simon Forum.
The Rangers (5-4, 2-0 LC), competing in their first Landmark Conference match since Sept. 14, have now won 24 straight regular-season conference matches dating back to the 2018-19 season.
Drew swept the three doubles sets to open up a 3-0 lead. Seniors
Santo Carroccia and
Daryl Wong Li-Hom won 8-2 at No. 1, as did freshman
Daniel Arcari and sophomore
Jesse Faro. prevailed in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (7-6) at No. 2. Freshman
Ian Michel and senior
Jack Polvere prevailed in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (7-6) at No. 3.
In singles action, the Rangers won at Nos. 1-5. Faro posted a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 while Wong Li-Hom was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at No. 2. Arcari enjoyed a perfect match at No. 3 (6-0, 6-0), and freshman
Joshua Thomas claimed an 8-3 win at No. 4, and Carroccia captured an 8-0 win at No. 5.
The Rangers continue their schedule on Sunday, when they host Juniata College at noon.
