WILKES-BARRE, Pa – The Drew University men's volleyball team split a tri-match at King's College on Saturday, topping Hood College 3-1 in its first match before falling in a tight 3-2 decision to King's to close out the day.

The Rangers (13-12) defeated Hood 25-18, 24-26, 25-21, 25-17. Then against King's, the Rangers rallied but lost by scores of 26-24, 20-25, 25-23, 21-25, 15-10 behind a school-record 50 assists from senior Omarf Ortega-Reyes.

Against Hood, junior Ephraim Smith turned in a tremendous performance, throwing down a career-high 20 kills – a mark that ties him for second in team history. He did not commit an error on 36 attempts to finish with a .556 attack percentage.

Junior Jacob Sledz added 10 kills, 10 digs, and six aces for the Rangers while Ortega-Reyes and junior Huriel Perez handed out 24 and 12 assists, respectively.
