HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Drew University softball team scored 12 runs on 23 hits, but Juniata College won both ends of a doubleheader in the Rangers' Landmark Conference opener on Friday.

The Eagles won the opener 6-2 and captured the nightcap 14-10.

Juniors
Fran O'Kleasky and
MacKenzie Pisani each went 4-for-9 at the plate for Drew (9-7, 0-2 LC), with O'Kleasky also finishing with two doubles, two runs, and two RBIs while Pisani also drove in three runs.

In the opener, the Rangers struck first, when senior
Molly O'Brien reached on an infield single and stole second before eventually scoring on a double steal. However, Juniata (10-10, 3-1 LC) rallied with the next five runs, including four in the third, to assume a 5-1 lead.

The Rangers pulled to within three in the fourth. Junior
Delaney O'Donoghue singled before pinch-runner
Daylin Evans-Lascik stole second and scored on a single from sophomore
Zoey Shimp. However, Juniata tacked on what held up as the final run of the game in the bottom half.

Junior
Teagan Bradley went 3-for-3 at the plate for the Rangers, and she also started in the circle for went the distance, striking out two without walking a batter. Pisani added a 3-for-4 showing in the opener.

In a topsy-turvy second game, the Rangers broke out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first, when senior
Molly O'Brien drilled an RBI-double and sophomore
Olivia Magliacano ripped a two-run single.

The Eagles scored twice in the second before Drew scored a pair of its own in the third to push its lead to 6-2, but Juniata answered with four in the bottom half, capped by a three-run homer from Caleigh Love, to pull even at 6-6.

Drew went back up in the fourth, getting an RBI-single from O'Kleasky and a two-run double from Pisani to go ahead 9-6. However, the Eagles came back with eight runs in the fifth, taking a commanding 14-9 lead. Drew capped the scoring with an RBI-double from O'Kleasky in the seventh.

Magliacano went 3-for-4 with three RBIs in the second game while O'Kleasky was 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs, and two RBIs. O'Brien and sophomore
Josie Di Troia also collected two hits apiece.

Freshman
Allie Porbansky started in the circle for the Rangers and pitched 2 1/3 innings. Junior
Tyler Saunders came on to throw 2 1/3 of relief before freshman
Kaitlynne Streets worked the final 1 1/3.
Drew continues its season on Wednesday, when it hosts Moravian University in a Landmark Conference doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
