MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's tennis team rallied from a 4-2 deficit to remain unbeaten in Landmark Conference play, edging Goucher College 5-4 at the Drew Tennis Complex Saturday afternoon.
The Rangers (7-5, 7-0 LC), who won their sixth match in a row, extended their winning streak versus Landmark Conference opponents to 25 and have won their last 21 Landmark Conference regular-season matches.
Trailing 4-2, the Rangers stormed back with three straight three-set singles victories. Senior
Melina Christodoulou rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 before freshman
Maddie Krzanowski also came from behind to pull the Rangers even, prevailing 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. First-year
Riley Roesel then came through in the clutch for Drew, winning 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 at No. 6 to clinch the Drew victory.
Junior
Mary Kalorin also won in singles, cruising to a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 2 to improve to 7-0 on the season in Landmark Conference play.
Christodoulou and Kalorin teamed up for Drew's lone doubles victory, winning 8-6 at No. 6.
The Rangers continue their season on Sunday, when they visit 41st-ranked College of New Jersey in a non-conference match starting at noon.
