MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's tennis team defeated the University of Scranton 8-1 in a Landmark Conference match Wednesday afternoon in the Simon Forum.
The Rangers (7-4, 4-0 LC) won their third match in a row while staying undefeated in Landmark Conference play. Drew has now won 26 straight regular-season conference matches dating back to the 2018-19 season. In addition, Drew has captured its last 13 overall matches versus Landmark Conference opponents.
Drew opened the day by winning all three doubles matches, receiving victories from seniors
Santo Carroccia and
Daryl Wong Li-Hom at No. 1 (8-1), freshman
Daniel Arcari and sophomore
Jesse Faro at No. 2 (8-2), and sophomore
Shivi Perera and freshman
Joshua Thomas at No. 3 (8-4).
The Rangers were just as impressive in singles play, winning five of six matches, including two in which they did not lose a game. Faro earned a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 1 while Wong Li-Hom rallied for a 0-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 2. Arcari and Carroccia each won 6-0, 6-0 at Nos. 3-6, respectively, while Perera was a 6-1, 6-0 victor at No. 5.
Drew continues its season on Saturday, when it hosts Landmark Conference foe Catholic University at 1 p.m.
