MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's tennis team continued its impressive start to its Landmark Conference schedule, cruising past Catholic University 8-1 on Saturday at the Drew Tennis Complex.
The Rangers (8-4, 5-0 LC) stayed undefeated in conference play and have lost just three overall team points in its five Landmark Conference matches this year.
Drew has now won 27 straight regular-season conference matches dating back to the 2018-19 season. In addition, the Rangers have captured their last 14 overall matches versus Landmark Conference opponents.
The Rangers opened the day by winning all three doubles matches. Seniors
Santo Carroccia and
Daryl Wong Li-Hom won 8-6 at No. 1 while freshman
Daniel Arcari and sophomore
Jesse Faro prevailed 8-1 at No. 2. Sophomore
Shivi Perera and senior
Jack Polvere completed the doubles sweep with an 8-3 victory at No. 3.
Drew was also victories at the top five singles matches. Faro won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 while Wong Li-Hom rallied once again at the No. 2 spot, bouncing back from an opening set loss for the third match in a row to win 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
Arcari claimed a 6-3, 6-3 decision at No. 3 while Perera was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at No. 4. Carroccia added a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 5.
The Rangers are back in Landmark Conference action on Thursday at 4 p.m., when they visit Moravian University.
