MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's tennis team won its fifth straight match in Landmark Conference play, downing Catholic University 7-2 on Saturday at the Drew Tennis Complex.
The Rangers (5-5, 5-0 LC) won two out of three doubles matches, then prevailed in five of the six singles contests.
Drew earned its 23rd straight victory over a Landmark Conference opponent and collected its 21st consecutive regular-season conference win.
In doubles action, senior
Melina Christodoulou and junior
Mary Kalorin teamed up for an 8-4 win at the No. 1 spot while junior
Courtney Bresler and sophomore
Natalia Zamora captured an 8-4 victory at No. 2.
Christodoulou also claimed a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles while Kalorin moved into a tie for 10th on Drew's all-time singles victory list with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 2 position, giving her 34 victories for her career.
The Rangers also captured the bottom three singles matches. Zamora (6-4, 6-2), freshman
Maddie Krzanowski (6-1, 6-2), and freshman
Riley Roesel (6-4, 6-0) won at Nos. 4-6, respectively.
Drew is back in action on Tuesday, when it visits Moravian University at 4 p.m. in another Landmark Conference affair.
