Three-Peat! Women's Tennis Downs Moravian for Third Straight Landmark Conference Title

MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University women's tennis team cruised to its third straight Landmark Conference title with a 5-1 victory over Moravian University in the championship match on Saturday at the Drew Tennis Complex.

The Rangers (12-6) won two of three doubles matches, then won at first, second, and fifth singles to clinch their fourth Landmark Conference title in team history and their fifth conference title overall.

Senior Courtney Bresler won her second match of the tournament at No. 3 doubles and was selected as the tournament MVP.

Drew earns an automatic bid in the NCAA Division III Championships and will learn their first-round opponent and location when the tournament field is announced on Monday at noon on NCAA.com.

Drew and No. 3-seeded Moravian (15-5) were meeting in the conference final for the third year in a row.

The Rangers opened the day with an 8-0 victory at No. 1 doubles from senior Melina Christodoulou and junior Mary Kalorin before Bresler and sophomore Natalia Zamora rallied from a 3-0 deficit to win 8-3 at No. 3, giving Drew a 2-0 advantage. The Greyhounds answered with their only point of the match, an 8-3 victory at No. 2.

Christodoulou pushed Drew's lead to 3-1 with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles before Kalorin stormed back from a 4-1 first-set deficit to win 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 to finish the season 11-0 versus Landmark Conference opponents. Freshman Maddie Krzanowski then ended the match with her 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 5.
